Day 216 - Sit Down, Buckle-Up & Hang On!

Still having fun after all these months!

Starting this week, it's going to get a bit busy out at the new house.  Lots of things will be going on simultaneously.  Tom, Travis & Al will be finishing the exterior housewrap, brackets & trim.  The exterior siding will start going on.  Gered will be here to install the cabinets, and Dave is going to begin the tile installation!  Coordination between the contractors is going to be key for everything to go smoothly.  For example:  Before the siding guys can side the west side of house, Brian, the HVAC guy, needs to install the range hood & exhaust it out the side of the house.  However, before Brian can install the range hood, Gered needs to install the kitchen cabinets.  Hopefully all will go smoothly!

Bead Board Ceilings

Tom, Travis & Al have installed the bead board ceiling in the kitchen & 3 season porch.  It looks really good.  Ok, the 3 season porch looks a bit like a zebra at the moment due to the primer!  But it will look awesome once it gets painted!

You mean you want it on the ceiling?

Different trim options for the bead board edge.  We picked the option on the left.

Is it just me, or does Al look a bit queasy?

Tile

Dave Gessel has dropped off his supplies & is ready to start with the tile prep this week.  I'm really excited to see how everything turns out.  The tile floors on the main floor will have a self leveling floor poured under the tile to prevent cracking & to set the in-floor heat into.

The polymer makes the mortar more flexible & helps prevent the tile from cracking.

Novoplan 2 Plus.  Way better than regular Novoplan!  Trust me, I'm a doctor!

Sure looks heavy.  Yup.  Sure does.

Well, there should be quite a few more action photos in the weeks to come!
